- SASQUATCH PRE-COMMERCIAL THINNING (PCT) REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP). This project is a total small business set-aside. GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this contract is to secure services for pre-commercial thinning of approximately 455 acres of conifer reproduction, approximately 20 to 30 years old. The performance period is 255 calendar days. PROJECT LOCATION: The project is located in Freshwater Bay approximately 38 road miles west of Hoonah, Alaska. All Items are located on Forest Roads that allow access from the town of Hoonah. Hoonah, Alaska is linked to Seattle, Washington via Alaska Airlines, the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System and barge services from Seattle. OBTAINING A SOLICITATION: The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about April 17, 2008 for viewing and printing. Potential bidders are requested to obtain the solicitation from the Internet. If unable to successfully obtain the solicitation from the Internet, then a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907.228.6254. Fax requests must reference solicitation number AG-0116-S-08-0026. Telephone requests will not be honored. Quotes will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATION: By registering to receive notification on posted synopses, you will be automatically notified via email of any changes to the project. The Forest Service will not notify you of any changes, the vendor is required to monitor this solicitation through this system. IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to receive any contract award, Vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) databases. To register your firm in the CCR system, go to: http://www.ccr.gov or by calling 1-888-227-2423 or 269-961-5757. To register your firm in the ORCA system, go to: http://www.bpn.gov.
