- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry Dock and repairs to a 64 FOOT AID TO NAVIGATION BOAT (643501). The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Full and Open Competition, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about 12 March 2008. The solicitation will be issued electronically via the Federal Business Opportunity web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for the RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. The NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for DRYDOCK repairs to a 64 FOOT AID TO NAVIGATION BOAT (643501). The vessel is homeported in Eufaula, AL. All work will be performed at the contractors facility. This vessel is geographically restricted to 320 Nautical Miles of their homeport of Eufaula, AL. The performance period will be thirty-five (35) calendar days with a start date on or about 2 June 2008. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the 64 Foot Aid to Navigation Boat. This work will include, but is not limited to: 1. Welding repairs. 2. Clean and Inspect Fuel Tanks. 3. Clean and Inspect Sewage Tanks. 4. Clean and Inspect Ballast Tanks. 5. Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shaft. 6. Renew Water Lubricated Shaft Bearings. 7. Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propellers. 8. Clean, Inspect, and Test Grid Coolers. 9. Inspect Exhaust Mufflers. 10. Clean and Inspect Main Engine and Ship Service Generator Uptakes. 11. Renew Valves. 12. Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies. 13. Preserve Spud and Spud Well Surfaces. 14. Preserve Underwater Body. 15. Preserve Freeboard. 16. Routine Dry-docking. 17. Provide Temporary Logistics. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing.
