Description
Services of an Architectural/Engineering firm with specialized experience in design of HVAC systems within a 24/7 healthcare and medical environment, to participate in site investigation, design, preparation of working drawings/construction documents, and construction period services for Project 596-08-106, REPLACE HVAC SYSTEMS FOR BUILDING 17, LD at VA Medical Center, Leestown Road Division, Lexington, KY. Design disciplines to include: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical and limited Architectural and Fire Protection Design. Design must ensure that construction has minimal negative impact to existing medical center operations. This project will consist of replacing the existing HVAC System (Air Handler Unit, HVAC distribution systems, fan coil units (FCU's) exhaust fans and supplement systems/construction repair items needed for installation of the HVAC System) which has exceeded useful life. Estimated construction cost range is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Project will be accomplished in AutoCad .dwg format; specifications will be accomplished in Microsoft Word .doc format. Area of consideration is restricted to firms located within a 100 miles radius of VAMC, Lexington, KY, and is open to both large and small business concerns, in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. North American Industry Classification (NAICS) No. 541330, with a size standard of $4.5 million is applicable. Interested firms, with required specialization, must submit three (3) copies of Standard Form 330, Architect-Engineer qualifications, to the issuing office no later than 2:00 p.m. EDT April 30, 2008. (Fed-ex or hand-carried submissions to be delivered to VA Medical Center, Attn: Angie Napier (90C), Bldg. 2, Rm. 206, 2250 Leestown Road, Lexington, KY 40511). Respondents will be reviewed on the basis of: professional qualifications; specialized experience and technical competence in projects of similar type, including experience in energy conservation, pollution prevention, waste reduction, and use of recovered materials; capacity to accomplish the work in the required timeframe; past performance on contracts with Government agencies and private industry for projects of similar type; team proposed for this project; previous experience of proposed team; project control (design schedule control and quality assurance reviews of submission documents); and estimating effectiveness. Each of these specific review items shall be addressed on the qualifications packages submitted. Note: Special consideration in the evaluation and selection process will be given to service disabled veteran and veteran owned small businesses. This is NOT a Request for Proposals.
