Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Hampton, Virginia is seeking potential sources capable of providing Asbestos and Lead assessment for the period of April 25, 2008 through May 9, 2008, Monday through Friday excluding Federal Holidays. The Contractor shall provide all labor, material, tools, equipment, lab testing and other requirements to perform full survey for asbestos and lead at the VA Medical Center, Hampton VA. Work will consist of surveying areas of the Medical Center including floors, piping, crawlspaces, and mechanical spaces, taking samples to be analyzed for asbestos and/or lead, and provide a detailed report on the findings. Surveys must be done by accredited surveyors trained in asbestos and lead work. The Contractor must have a minimum of three (3) years in asbestos inspections and management planning. All individuals involved in the physical inspection of the sites must have current Virginia and or EPA Asbestos Inspector certification, at least one person employed by the firm and involved in the assessment must have a current Virginia and or EPA Asbestos Management Planner Certification and at least one person employed by the firm must have a current Virginia and or EPA Asbestos Designer Certification. The contractor is required to have all samples analyzed by a laboratory accredited to perform analysis of bulk asbestos samples under AHERA. The contract shall be under the direct supervision of a Certified Industrial Hygienist who shall be employed by the firm. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541330. Size standard is $4.5 Million. This is a sources sought notice only. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Responses to this notice should include the following: name and address of company; business size (large or small); identify whether or not firm falls into any of the socioeconomic categories.
