- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). Submit written offers (oral offers will not be accepted), on RFQ F2U1138053A001. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-24 and DAC DCN 20080303. This procurement is being issued as 100% small business set-aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 337215 and the size standard of 500 employees applies to this procurement. The requirement is for 93 custom oak lockers with melomine and wire pulls on the doors. Contractor shall be responsible for the building assembly and installation. Lockers shall be stained with the color selected by the user. A mandatory site visit will be held on 24 Mar 08. All attendees will meet at Luke Air Force Base?s South Gate at 9:00 a.m. to verify site conditions. Please e-mail ken.miller@luke.af.mil to confirm your attendance not later than 1600 PST on 21 Mar 08. Failure to attend the site visit will render your quote ineligible for consideration. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors--Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. The evaluation will be based on total cost. Offerors shall include with their quotes, a completed copy of FAR 52.212-3, Offer Representation and Certifications ? Commercial Items at website http://orca.bpn.gov. If representations and certification have been completed, please provide DUNS number. The clause at FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. To be eligible to receive an award resulting from this solicitation, contractor must be registered in the DoD Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database, NO EXCEPTIONS. Quotes are required to be received no later than 4:00 PM AM PST, 27 Mar 08. Questions and Answers The attached Questions and Answers are provided as a result of the site visit at Luke Air Force Base for solicitation F2U1138053A001, Custom Lockers. Q: Are the lockers to be placed in the same location as the lockers that are being removed? A: Yes, the new lockers will be placed in the same location as the lockers that are being removed. Q: Do you want raised panels on the doors? A: Yes, the panels on the doors will be raised exactly as they are on the lockers shown at the visit. Q: The solicitation called for a single vented door on the locker top, but did not specify a vented door on the bottom. The lockers shown today have a vented area at the bottom of the locker also. Do you want a vented area on the bottom locker also? A: Yes, each door shall contain a vent. The bottom door vent was accidentally omitted from the solicitation. Q: Do you want nickel plated 4? handles? A: Yes we want the handles to be nickel plated Q: I noticed the lockers had name plates. Are we to provide the rack for the name plates on the lockers? A: No, there is no requirement for name plates on the lockers Q: The solicitation called for Melamine inserts. It appears the entire interior of the cabinet is melamine and the doors appear to be oak. Is the requirement for solid oak cabinets or oak doors with melamine inserts? A: The locker should match the materials of the sample lockers shown. I submit another amendment after confirmation of the material used. Q: Will you extend the date for quotes to be received. A: Yes, the date will be extended until 14 Apr 08. Material confirmation will be published not later than close of business on 7 Apr 08.
