- This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. A written solicitation will be issued. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Memphis District anticipates awarding a contract to perform a major overhaul of the starboard and port reduction gears of the Motor Vessel Strong Crane Barge 8501 as defined in the statement of work. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for s mall business. The associated NAICS code is 333612 with a size of 500 personnel. All responsible sources may submit at quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Quotes may be submitted in hard copy or electronically, either through regular mai l, email, or by facsimile. Regardless of method of delivery, it is the offerors responsibility to ensure receipt of quotes by the time and date stated herein. Contractors shall submit a lump sum quotation to include all charges. The solicitation will be posted on or about March 26, 2008, at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi-click on contracting opportunities search, enter W912EQ% in the solicitation number, click on the solicitation number, at the bottom for the next screen click on attachments, click on the pdf file and the solicitation will opening up. Statement of Work: Contractor shallprovide all labor equipment and material to Perform Major Overhaul of the Starboard and Port Reduction Gears (Twin Disc Model #MG5202 Port S/N 3AA475, Star board S/N 3X5964, BOL #40017) 1. Overhaul, removal and reinstallation of Port and Starboard Reduction Gears, replace any suspected defective parts, such as shafts, bearings, gears, races, etc. 2. Replace all seals, gaskets, O rings, strainers a nd seals. 3. Replace all clutches, pressure plates, etc. 4. Test both gears for proper service after completion. 5. Provide Parts and Labor Warranty for 1 year 6. Contractors are encouraged and expected to attend a site visit where the wor k will be performed. An organized site visit has been scheduled for April 3, 2008 at 02:00 p.m. CST. Participants will meet at : Ensley Engineer Yard, 2915 Riverport Road, Memphis, TN 38109.
