- ROADS CONSTRUCTION PROJECT C.O.I.R. CHIP SEAL NO. 2: The Bureau of Indian Affairs, Western Regional Office, seeks Indian-Owned Construction Firms which can provide all labor, materials, equipment and supervision to scrub seal, hot asphalt-rubber chip seal coat, final fog seal and pavement markings on 0.17 miles of Route 20; 0.61 miles of Route 21; 0.66 miles of Route 22; and 0.17 miles of Route 24. Total project length is 1.610 miles on the East Cocopah Indian Reservation, Yuma County, Arizona. Estimated Price Range is $250,000 to $500,000. ISSUE DATE o/a 14 APRIL 2008. BID OPENING DATE o/a: 08 MAY 2008. THIS PROCUREMENT IS SET-ASIDE FOR 51% INDIAN-OWNED AND CONTROLLED FIRMS UNDER THE "BUY INDIAN ACT." 25 U.S.C. 47, Section 7(b) of P.L. 93-638 (25 U.S.C. 450e) requires that preference opportunities in employment and training be given to Indian/Alaska Native individuals and that preference in award of subcontracts be given to Indian/Alaska Native economic enterprises. Indian firms bidding under this Act must self-certify they are eligible under the "Buy Indian Act."
