Description

This notice is a sources sought to obtain vendor's estimated delivery capabilities for Armored Steel in support of Add on Armor programs. This notice is for planning and is not formal request for quotes. If the Government obtains a valid requiremen t, it will be posted via a combined solicitation/synopsis on ASFI. The requirements are as follows: 841 plates 3/8 inch X 4' X 12' RHA per MIL-A-12560 and 28 plates of 1/2 inch X 4' X 12' RHA per MIL-A-12560. The Government would like a realistic estima te of delivery capabilities for these quantities as all would be required within an extremely short time frame from any award date. The steel being requested is NOT subject to the restriction at DFARS 225.7011-1, and material can be proposed and provided that is rolled and/or melted in places other than the United States or Canada, however the Buy American Act would still apply, therefore it a foreign product could only be accepted from a qualifying country. If a solicitation is released it would be withi n a week from responses to this sources sought notice, and would be posted electronically. Please provide availability of materials as well as delivery schedule capabilities for the quantities above by COB 1 April 2008 directly to Beth Anderson at beth.m. anderson@us.army.mil
