- Description
- Several organizations have sponsored significant development of standards for Operationally Responsive Space (ORS) - class spacecraft. These include: the former Office of Force Transformation (OFT), now part of the Office of the Director of Defense Research and Engineering (DDR&E), executed by the Integrated Systems Engineering Team (ISET) lead by the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) and the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU APL); by the Air Force Research Laboratory?s Space Vehicles Directorate (AFRL/RV); and other organizations including NASA. The ORS Office intends to manage and lead further ORS standards development and extend the standards to other ORS pillars including launch vehicles, ground support equipment, and command, control, communications hardware and software. It envisions expanding participation in the activity to include other government organizations, FFRDCs, UARCs and industry through an Integrated Products Team (IPT).
