Description
NOTICE: THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. The information provided in response to this notice will assist the Government in determining the extent of the small business and socio-economic market for the type of work described herein. The intent of the announcement is to identify sources that are qualified business concerns capable of furnishing professional, technical and analytical scientific support services for the National Marine Fisheries Science Centers and Laboratories that are located in the west coast states and Alaska. This work requires support at the Ph.D., Master?s and Bachelor degree levels. Key personnel include Program Managers, Scientists, Biological Technicians, Natural Resource Technicians, GIS Technicians, Computer Specialists, and Technical Writers. A background in science, technology, engineering, and math is required as well as experience in the use of UNIX, LINUX and/or Windows operating systems. The Government requires that all Scientist and Biologist personnel have at least a baccalaureate degree or equivalent in physical and biological sciences. This includes studies in the following disciplines: math, statistics, engineering, computer science, physiology, molecular biology, genetics, systematics, oceanography, fishery biology, ecology, as well as support in the service areas of foreign language translation, library sciences and research, scientific illustration, safety and environmental, technical and non-technical writing, and scientific editing. The contractor shall receive, process, and evaluate completed applications for referral of select applicants to the Government. A Government representative will review and approve each selection. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing overall management of administrative issues pertaining to all Contractor technical and contractual support including state and local requirements and insurance and liability coverage for its employees. Period of performance is one year. The performance may be in La Jolla, Santa Cruz, Long Beach, and Pacific Grove, California; Seattle, Washington; as well as, vessel charters and specified research sites at various locations in the United States. Contractors should have capabilities and facilities to provide all labor, materials, supplies, and equipment to perform the work.
