Description
This project will develop guidelines for modification of roadway culverts to eliminate barriers to aquatic organism passage. The contractor shall develop documentation that describes the best available practices for modification of existing roadway culverts for fish passage, the criteria for choosing a modification method, the design criteria/methodology, and methods for monitoring effectiveness for each. The documentation will provide guidance for choosing a retrofit method based on geomorphic factors, aquatic organism species and life stage, hydrology, and other factors to be considered. This is not to be a detailed design manual. The document will be directed to an audience of engineers capable of doing detailed design of culverts. The final documentation shall be suitable for inclusion in a Forest Service EM series publication Culvert Modifications for Aquatic Organism Passage: A Guidebook. Period of Performance - Final Report due by 30 September 2008. Contract must be made prior to the expiration of the 15 day synopsis. The solicitation will provide the final set-aside determinations. Simplified Acquisition Procedures (Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13 for Acquisition of a Commerciak Item (FAR Part 12 will be used. Contractors must be registered in Central Contractors Registry BEFORE a quote is submitted. Quotes will not be considered without a CCR (DUNS) Number. Registration can be done online at http://www.ccr.gov. Estimated price range is between $25,000.00 and $75,000.00. NAICS Code is 541330. Solicitation package will be posted in approximately 15 days. Offers due by April 24, 2008 Pacific Standard Time.
