- Description
- The Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7, Birmingham, AL intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, with Cepheid 904 Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale, CA 94089. The proposed contract action is for the purchase of a GeneXpert system, 4 site desktop computer and GeneXpert MRSA Assay. This GeneXpert system allows automated sample extraction and real-time PCR analysis. It must have multiplex capability and be able to run different tests at the same time. The system should be internally controlled to obviate need of operator to set up new controls for each test or specimen. It has simplicity and ease of use for 24/7 deployability and sustainability. The NACIS code is 334516. This Notice of intent is Not a REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting literature and documentation, detailing their experience in providing this product, to the Contracting Officer via email or fax at 478-275-5866. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
