Description
This synopsis provides notice of the Government's intent to solicit a proposal on a sole source basis with Harris RF Communication, 1680 University Avenue, Rochester, NY 14610-1839. The contract type is anticipated to be a Firm Fixed Price contract. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Harris RF Communication is the only known source capable of satisfying the Government's minimum requirement. The Contract Line Item Numbers and descriptions are: CLIN 0001 - P/N RF-5073VSM - System Shock Mount for RF-5833H, 150W Power Amplifier (2 each); CLIN 0002- P/N RF-5833H-PA003 - FALCON II 150W Power Amplifier w/COSIT (6 each); CLIN 0003 ? P/N RF-5382H-CU0001 - 150W Antenna Coupler w/50Ohm POR (6 each); CLIN 0004 - P/N 12020-1460-A150 - Cable Assembly, PA to Coupler Control (6 each); CLIN 0005 - Shipping (if any). Harris RF Communications is the only company that can provide amplifiers and auxiliary equipment that is 100% compatible with the currently fielded Harris AN-PRC150 and AN-PRC-137 Radios. This equipment has gone thru an extensive process of integration and testing to ensure compatibility with currently fielded hardware. Any deviation from the current infrastructure could jeopardize current operations. The purchase of any other amplifiers would result in duplicate costs to the government to modify the current design, recreate baseline drawings, testing and validation costs, operator and maintenance training costs, in addition to the logistical costs of managing two different systems. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, responsible interested parties may submit a proposal in which they identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider all information received by 3 April 2008, 1530 EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for any information received. For information contact Cindy Wilson, Code 2.5.1.2.2.2, Telephone (301) 995-8672, FAX (301) 995-8670 or via e-mail: cindy.wilson@navy.mil.
