Description
On or about 15 April 2008, this office will issue Invitation for Bids for the construction of Antelope Creek, Phase 3, Flood Protection Project, Lincoln, NE. Bids will be opened on or about 15 May 2008. This solicitation is unrestricted and open to both large and small business participation. The project is located on public property and Contractors are welcome to view the site at anytime on their own. An organized site visit has been tentatively scheduled for 9:00 A.M., April 29, 2008 at S Street (between 20th Street and 21st Street). Contractors interested in attending the site visit of the proposed work at another time should contact Steve Rasmussen, Fort Crook Area Office, 402-293-2511. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See Obtaining Solicitation Documents below. The work wi ll include the following: This project is a flood control channel improvements project along Antelope Creek (S Street to about J Street), Lincoln, NE. Work includes, but is not limited to, channel excavation and disposal of excess material, removal and di sposal of existing concrete pavements, placement and compaction of crushed rock, placement of concrete cellular mats, retaining wall construction, drainage structure modifications, demolition and disposal of residential structures, concrete post-tensioned bridge and roadway construction, bridge piling installation, bridge bent encasement, irrigation, utility relocations, bike path and channel paving, seeding and landscaping. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $7,500,000 and $10,000, 000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 540 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the suret y. Obtaining Solicitation Documents: This office will no longer send copies via paper or CDs of amendments and solicitations to interested parties. Solicitation documents will be posted on Federal Technical Data Solutions or FedTeDS. FedTeDS is a web-ba sed dissemination tool designed to safeguard acquisition-related information. When solicitation documents have been issued and posted to FedTeDs, synopsis or pre-solicitation notice will be amended and a link provided to access FedTeDS in note 2 below. Once you open the solicitation announcement on Fed Biz Opps, there will be a link provided to the solicitation on FedTeDS. Click on the link. 3. Once you have the solicitation open, you can begin downloading the various files to your location.
