Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ intends to enter into negotiations on a non-competitive basis with AAI Corporation, Hunt Valley, MD. The government intends to procure the upgrade of a total of four Advanced Boresight Equipment (ABE) test sets under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1, as AAI Corporation is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), and the only manufacturer with the expertise to accomplish the requirement. The ABE test sets will be modified from older, previously purchased ABE Models (2 each of ABE Model 300 and 2 each of ABE Model 310) to the upgraded version AN/UVM-3A ABE Model 310A. The upgrade consists of redesigning and replacing the system controller. The basic quantity will consist of the upgrade of two each ABE Model 310 to ABE Model 310A, with a two year option to consist of the upgrade of two each ABE Model 300 to ABE Model 310A. ABE Model 310A will be used with H-1W and H-60 adapters to accurately and quickly boresight instruments, racks and launchers ashore and afloat. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the government will consider all responses received to this notice. A determination by the government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation will be available for this procurement. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (14-SEP-2006).
