- Description
- The Social Security Administration, Region II, has a requirement for a hotel that can provide the necessary services for a conference to be held in New York City (specifically Manhattan south of 60th St., and Downtown Brooklyn, NY) on August 13, 2008 through August 14, 2008. Sleeping rooms are not part of this acquisition, as attendees are responsible for making their own reservations for sleeping rooms. However, the facility must be able to accommodate at least 32 sleeping rooms for the night of August 13; 54 rooms for the night of August 14; and two rooms for the night of August 15. The facility must be able to provide meeting room/ballroom space to accommodate 125 participants for plenary sessions, three to five soundproof breakout session rooms (each 700 sq ft), and audiovisual equipment to include LCD projectors, screens, electrical cords, carts, microphone and podium, flipcharts, and flipchart paper and markers. The facility must also provide full catering services for morning and afternoon breaks, one evening reception, and two mandatory lunches. The facility must be in compliance with the basic safety and ADA requirements recorded in the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS, sections 4-9) and the Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG). This acquisition is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 regarding the acquisition of commercial items. This is a non set-aside.
