- Description: Renovate Clinical Lab This project will engage an Architect-Engineering firm to provide Schematics, Design Development, Construction Documents, Contract Drawings, Specifications, Construction Cost Estimate, Engineering Calculations and subsequent Construction Period Services for the above referenced project, specifically to involve: Renovate approximately 6000 feet of square feet of clinical lab space in building 1, circa 1938, to address the deficiencies noted in a recent Facility Condition Assessment, improve work flow and update to current standards and practices. Schedule - Design to be completed to allow an award of construction contract in April 2009. Construction costs estimated to be in the range of 1.5 to 2.0 million dollars. The A/E shall provide a detailed construction cost estimate based on the contract drawings and specifications. All designs are to be to VA design criteria. Design is to be completed by November 15, 2008. The A/E firm must have an active production office within a 200 mile radius of White River Junction, Vermont. The following factors will be considered: reputation and standing of the firm and its principal officials with respect to professional performance, general management and cooperativeness/record of significant claims against the firm because of improper or incomplete architectural and engineering services, specific experience and qualifications of personnel proposed for assignment to the project and their record of working together as a team. Award is subject to the availability of funds. Submissions of SF 330s are due NLT April 18, 2008. Please note that this is not a Request for Proposal and the Government is seeking information for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or a commitment by the Government to later publish a solicitation. This announcement is not a request for competitive quotations. No solicitation document is available and telephone inquires will not be honored; however interested parties may submit literature detailing how their services meet the VA requirements to the Contracting Officer. Responses received on or before April 18, 2008 will be considered.
