Description
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Question 1: The order will be placed as a single order, shipped as one delivery and installed in 4 phases with about a week between completion of one phase and the start of the next. Is this correct? Answer: Correct < BR>Question 2: There are to be 4 openings in the shelving. Each unit would contain 5 shelves. Each including the top and bottom shelf. Is this correct? Answer: Correct Question 3: The Shelving units are to have closed sides and backs. Is this c orrect? Answer: Correct Question 4: All movable carriages are to have controls on both ends. Is this correct? Answer: Correct Question 5: There will be no floor covering applied to the decking of this system. The decking material sho uld have its own finish capable of withstanding spills, foot traffic, Cart traffic and the use of pallet jacks. Is this correct? Answer: Correct; deck need not be finished, but must be durable. Question 6: The ramps to the system will be ADA a nd made of steel. The ramps should extend outside of the system leaving no slanted deck surface in front of any of the shelf units. Is this correct? Answer: Not necessary; very gradual slope at ends of row acceptable. Question 7: The safety system will be of a type that will not let a powered carriage move, even slightly, in any direction if a person or obstacle is in an open isle. Is this correct? Answer: Correct Question 8: The shelf load shall have a minimum load capacity of 450 lb. each. Is this correct? Answer: 450lb per shelf is probably overkill; 300lb per shelf would be more than adequate. Question 9: Current shelf depth is 18 and the shelving depth was not specified in the bid. What is the preferred depth for the shelving you would like to have? Answer: 18 inch minimum depth, 24 inch maximum depth. A mix of both sizes to increase storage flexibility is preferred Question 10: Can you identify the location of the 120V 20amp circuits in this area o n the bid diagram? Answer: Yes. Locations of existing electrical outlets have been annotated on the attached drawing Question 11: On the bid drawing provided it indicated 84-4 maximum length going West to East, and if you measure out the actu al distance from outside of column on the West end to the outside edge of the column on the East end it measures 96-9 Answer: Re-measured the E-W distances; inside of columns (between) is 804 and outside of columns (inclusive) is 838 Ques tion 12: Measuring the North to South distance is 58-2 between the columns and 54-2 is what is shown on the bid diagram, see attached drawing showing measurements. Answer: Re-measured the N-S distance; inside of columns (between) is 535 and outs ide columns (inclusive) is 569 Question 13: Can product be directly shipped to your warehouse for delivery, so our install crew would meet our truck to unload product? Answer: Yes Question 14: What is the time frame required for each Ph ase indicated on the drawing of the installation for the mobile system? Answer: Negotiable; will need approximately 1 week between project phases to relocate and/or disassemble existing displaced shelving and to re-shelve supplies to the newly comple ted phase. Question 15: In preparing each of the areas for the Phased installations, who will be unloading the supplies currently loaded on the shelves and removing the existing shelving? Answer: My materiel handlers/warehousemen Questi on 16: Who is responsible for reloading the supplies back onto the shelves of the mobile system when each Phase is completed? Answer: My materiel handlers/warehousemen Question 17: What type of finished floor on top of the deck on the mobile sys tem such as VCT Tile or Carpet squares do you want? Answer: Floor finish not necessary; this is an industrial area and a good grade plywood decking i s adequate. We dont need to be pretty, we need to be functional. If a floor finish is determined to be necessary at a later date, we will address that as a separate requirement.
