Description
The Hefner VAMC, Salisbury, NC is seeking the services of an Architect-Engineer firm to complete design of a project to correct identified Facility Condition Assessment deficiencies in Building 5 associated with the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Building 5 is the main food production building at this medical center. Corrective action includes completion replacement of the ductwork systems which are covered with asbestos containing materials. , significant ceiling removal and reinstallation, replacement of piping systems, assessment and replacement of air handlers and roof top ventilators as required, replacement of fan coil units and all other work to completely assess and upgrade the HVAC systems in Building 5. Work will require significant phasing planning as this building needs to remain active and fully functional. Building 5 also houses several other administrative and public areas that will be addressed for small packaged HVAC units as well. This is not a request for proposal. This proposal is unrestricted; both small and large firms within a 150 mile radius of Salisbury (Rowan County) North Carolina may submit. Firms submitting SF 330s shall provide two copies to the attention of Jolette Morrison by 3PM on April 18, 2008. The selected firm shall provide all necessary labor, material, equipment and architectural and engineering services as required to prepare complete contract drawings, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates through construction of the project. Design shall be in accordance with all applicable requirements of the VA construction standards, space criteria, NFPA, NEC, OSHA and local, state and federal regulations. Reviews at 25%, 75%, 99% and 100% are required. All construction documents are to be provided electronically in the current version of AutoCad and MS Word. NAICS code 541310 is applicable to this procurement. Faxed copies of SF 330 are not acceptable. The SF 330 form may be downloaded at www.gsa.gov/forms. Government-wide Number Note 24 is applicable.
