Description
On March 27, 2008, Emergency Support Function-7 (ESF-7) Co-Agency leaders, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Logistics Management Directorate and the General Services Administration (GSA) will host an information forum that will include participants from federal, state and local governments and the private sector. The mission of ESF-7 is to synchronize and fully integrate logistics management and resource support capabilities into an effective national supply chain management system by leveraging the strengths, capabilities, and resources of its partners. The purpose of the forum is to begin dialogue to seek ideas and ways that FEMA and GSA can work more effectively with its partners including the private sector. Since the primary goal following any significant disaster is to restore the visability of the impacted area as quickly as possible, FEMA and GSA would like to better engage the private sector as a part of the solution for planning for and recovering from disasters. FEMA and GSA would like to better engage the private sector as a part of the solution for planning for and recovering from disasters. FEMA and GSA senior leadership will brief vendors on the ESF-7 partnership, New FEMA Vision - National Response Framework (NRF), FEMA Logistic Management Directorate overview, lessons learned from recent events, and the vision for development and enhancement going forward.
