- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing intends to issue a solicitation for the purchase of a 50% sodium hydroxide solution for use as an ingredient in a water-based alkaline wiping solution for currency production. This acquisition is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside, the NAICS code is 325181 and the size standard is 1000 employees. It is noted that a nonmanufacturer rule class waiver is in effect for this material. The Government anticipates that this solicitation will result in the award of a fixed price requirements contract. The period of performance is for one (1) twelve month base year and four (4) twelve month option years. Order quantities will be approximately ninety (90%) percent in bulk and ten (10%) in 55 gallon drums. Estimated quantities for the base year and each of the four option years will be 164,715 gallons each year including both bulk and drum deliveries. Deliveries of bulk quantities shall be FOB Destination to Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), 15th Street S.W., Washington DC 20228 .Deliveries of drum shipments will be FOB Destination to BEP, Landover Warehouse Facility, 3201 Pennsy Drive, Landover, Maryland 20875. Procedures set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 15, will be followed. The solicitation will be available on or about October 2007. A thirty day response time is planned. Contract award is planned for April 1, 2008.
