Description
MARKET SURVEY - SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: The Government is issuing this sources-sought announcement as part of a market survey. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) is interested in receiving information from vendors interested in providing Solder Training. The Government currently provides solder training on-site at NSWC Crane to meet solder certification requirements. The Government is interested in moving the training off-site to a contractor facility located within one (1) hour distance from NSWC Crane. All interested sources are encouraged to submit company and product literature, references and any other pertinent information for the Government?s consideration. It is recommended and preferred that the solder instructors are or have been a Navy 2M instructor. NAVY Course Identifier: 2M Instructor Initial Skills (CIN A-100-0135), 2M Instructor Certification (CIN A-100-0136) Description: Certified 2M Instructor; conducts formal training course for Miniature and Microminiature Electronic Repair, 2M Inspector, Microminiature Recertification Training in accordance with the Requirements of Standard Maintenance Practices and Electronic Assembly Repair IAW (NAVSEA SE004-AK-TRS-010/2M, NAVAIR 01-1A-23) Technical Manual. The following lists the IPC solder instructor courses required for certification. a) IPC J-STD-001 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) b) IPC 7711/7721 Rework/Repair and Modification Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) c) IPC-A-600 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) d) IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) e) IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) Responses desired by COB 15 April 2008. Interested organizations should respond by providing the Government the following information; point of contact, address, telephone and fax numbers, email address, duns number, cage code and or tax ID number, as well as size category (large, small, small disadvantaged, etc) a brief summary of the company's capabilities, description of facilities, and personnel. Also provide any supporting information such as commercial literature, catalogues, manuals, an estimate of overall costs (rough order of magnitude), etc. At the current time, NO FUNDING IS AVAILABLE for contractual efforts. This sources sought synopsis does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), a Request for Quote (RFQ), or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the Government to issue a formal solicitation or ultimately award a contract. The U.S. Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse any companies or entities that respond to this announcement. Any costs incurred by interested companies in response to this announcement will NOT be reimbursed.
