- Description
- Note 22 Applies. The Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division (EFLHD) of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) collects pavement condition data that are used by the National Park Service to manage its road network. The equipment used to collect the pavement condition data, the Automated Road Analyzer (ARAN), is reaching the end of its useful life. Since the time the ARAN was purchased, there have been many changes in the technology used to collect pavement condition data. Therefore, EFLHD intends to enter into a contract with Applied Pavement Technology, Inc. to procure services of a Pavement Management Specialist to review options available, recommend equipment specifications for the purchase of a new vehicle, and to develop procedures to maximize the compatibility of data collected with the new equipment with data collected in the previous cycles. The project also includes an assessment of any changes needed to the current calculation of pavement condition indexes and recommendations for making the appropriate changes. The project culminates in the development of a final report that summarizes the findings and presents the recommended actions. The estimated value of this acquisition is $56,000.00.
