- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ANNOUNCEMENT. This is not a request for quote. Please do not request a copy of a solicitation. A solicitation is not available at this time. The 42d Contracting Squadron, Maxwell AFB AL is seeking small business manufacturers, to include serviced disabled veteran-owned, and HUBZone small business manufacturers under NAICS code 332944, (size standard 1,000 employees) interested in providing M4 Cobalt Trainer Weapons (Full Black Furniture). Description of Items: The Cobalt Blue ? Trainers (CBT) are 1:1 scale replicas of the AR-15/M16 style rifles, carbines and their variants that look, feel and operate like a full-functioning firearm, but do not and cannot be made to fire live ammunition. Barrels are drilled with a .212 size bore and no chamber. Bolt carriers will not accept standard bolts. Lower receivers have no hammer and a larger hole has been drilled so the standard hole can not be drilled for a hammer. The trigger hole is moved out of place, making it near impossible to ever make the lower function for live fire. The pockets for the other fire control components in the lower receivers are absent or are an alternate dimension. Quantity Required: 400 each with delivery to Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama 36112. Vendor must provide all labor, tools and supplies necessary to provide this requirement.
