Description
This is a sources sought notice to seek potential sources that can provide Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) M9 Pistol Modular Holster System. Headquarters Air Force Security Forces Center, Force Protection Commodity Council (FPCC), is conducting market research to determine availability of a COTS M9 Pistol Modular Holster System in the commercial marketplace. The COTS holster must meet or exceed the government's minimum requirements or can be modified to meet these requirements. This sources sought is solely for planning purposes and does not constitute an invitation for bid nor request for proposal, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Large and small businesses are encouraged to participate in this survey. The information you provide may be used by the Government in developing an acquisition strategy and purchase description. Industry is encouraged to respond with information not constrained by proprietary data rights. However, if proprietary data is included in your reply, please mark it appropriately. The following is a list of the government?s minimum requirements for the M9 Pistol Modular Holster System: designed for the USAF M9 (Beretta 92F) pistol; should be capable of fitting an M9 pistol with weapon mounted flashlight or laser aiming device; three levels of retention; constructed of injection molded carbon fiber composites; uses a natural draw motion; no straps or flaps that may accidentally open during movements; easy to train within any configuration and environment (tactical or law enforcement); system must be able to be mounted securely to a law enforcement duty belt, thigh platform, modular lightweight load-bearing equipment (MOLLE) vest, and shoulder harness; shoulder harness must fit personnel with a chest size ranging from 32 to 57 inches; shoulder harness must secure to a belt or trousers via a belt loop and a suspender snap closer; system must have a device that allows it to transition from each platform and lock into place with minimal to no tools; system must have a trigger housing locking lug; system must be available for right and left hand operators; system must be available in sage green, tan, and black; system must be beveled on the end near the barrel of the weapon to prevent rock, dirt and debris from getting into the barrel, yet allow water and debris to drain or fall out; and system should have a mechanism (hood, or cover) to protect the hammer of the weapon.
