- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City (NSWC-PC) intends to issue a brand name requirement for the following Cisco products: 1) Cisco 3845 with AC Power, 2 GE, 1 each, 2) Cisco 3845 Enterprise Base, S384EBK9-12410, 1 each, 3) 16 Port 10/100 EtherSwitch with 1 GE, NM-16-ESW-1GIG, 1 each, 4) 8-Port Async/Sync Serial Network, NM-8A/S, 1 each, 5) Cisco 6845 Redundant AC Supply, 1 each, 6) Device man for Router, ROUTER-SDM, 1 each, 7) 100/1000BaseT Daughter Card, GE-DCARD-ESW, 1 each, 8) Cisco Standard Power Supply, PWR-3845-AC/2, 1 each, 9) 256 MB SDRAM Default Memory, MEM3800-64CF-INCL, 1 each, 10) 64 MB Cisco Flash Memory Default, MEN3800-CF-INCL, 1 each and 11) Smarnet 8x5xNBD 3845 with AC, CON-SNT-3845, 1 each in support of the Multiple Vehicle Communications Systems (MVCS) Program. This procurement is brand name for the following reasons: The MVCS program was built and configured based on selected Cisco brand routers and hardware. Altering this equ ipment and hardware would greatly affect existing test data and procedures and will require extensive retesting to ensure 100% compatibility with previous and existing systems. By using the same components, NSWC PCD would mitigate the risks of integration of other units in which this development tool will be used. Award will be based on the written request for quotation. Anticipated award date will be on or about 15 Mar 2008.
