- Amendment 0001 incorporates the following changes: 1. The anticipated release date of the Request for Proposal has been changed to April 11, 2007. 2. The following sentence has been addded: This notice of intent is for the light weight variant only, not for the M2A1. The U.S. Army, Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command has a requirement for the development of a light weight low recoil .50 caliber machine gun (LW50MG) to fulfill the requirements of the Capability Production Document (CPD) for Enhanced ,50 Caliber Machine Gun (M2A1)(with Lightweight Variant). It is the Government???s intent to award the effort on a sole source basis to General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.This notice of intent is for the light weight variant only, not for the M2A1. Release of a Request for Proposal (RFP) is anticipated on or about 11 April 2008. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals. Questions shall be submitted in writing to the U.S. Army JM&L LCMC, Attn: Yasmine Clanton, Contract Specialist, at yasmine.clanton@us.army.mil. TELEPHONE INQUIRES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. See Note 22.
