- Description
- This project is located on the Calaveras Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest. Work consists of 3 separate activities over a project area of approximately 827 acres. Activities include 1.) Marking trees 4.0 inches DBH to 29.9 inches DBH,except for Roadside Hazard Trees, where there is no maximum size. 2.) Timber Cruising to meet Regional standards for tree measurement sales. 3.)Biomass Cruising. Guidelines for each activity will be included in solicitation. PROJECT LOCATION: From Hathaway Pines, CA., travel NE on Hwy 4 to Forest Rd 6N58. Turn North of Forest Rd 6N58. Continue on 6N58 approx. 1/2 mi to the project area. Also, from Hwy 4 turn South on Forest Rd 6N80. Continue on 6N80 approx 1/2 mi to the project area. UNIT BOUNDARIES: Unit boundaries are flagged with white flagging and marked with orange tracer paint. Boundary trees are painted with three vertical stripes, one each on the opposite sides of the tree in the direction of the boundary and the third on the side of the tree facing into the unit. There is no flagging or orange paint along boundaries that follow roads. Where a property line defines the unit boundary, the unit boundary will be flagged with red flagging and marked with red paint.
