The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) in April 2008 for design, development and demonstration, testing and low rate initial production of the AN/SLQ-32(V) Surface Electronic Warfare (EW) System Block 2 Upgrade. The AN/SLQ-32 Surface EW System Block 2 Upgrade is a new effort that incorporates limited parts of the architecture of the AN/SLQ-32 Block 1 System and provides an improved receiver/antenna group necessary to keep capabilities current with the pace of the threat, as well as improved Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) mitigation and Combat System Interface. A number of key components from the AN/SLQ-32 Block 1 System will be government furnished equipment and must be integrated unmodified ? except for interfaces ? into the new AN/SLQ-32(V) System Block 2 Upgrade.
