Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Scope of work 2008 National Electrical Code seminar Provide an onsite seminar for 15 people at Soo Area Office, US Army Corps of Engineers located at 119 Waters Street Sault Sainte Marie Michigan. The seminar shall be on the 2008 National Electrical Code (NEC) and shall cover the installation, testing and inspection procedures for industrial, commercial, institutional, and r esidential power systems along with rules to minimize the risk of electricity as a source of electric shock, and as an ignition source of fires and explosions. Specific items that should be covered are listed as follows. " Expanded AFCI protection i n wiring systems " Identification of ungrounded branch circuit and feeder conductors " Reorganized rules in Article 220: Branch Circuit, Feeder and Service Calculations " New rules for GFCI protection " New zone hazardous area classificatio n system for combustible dusts and ignitable fibers and flyings " All-new articles for control panels and speed-drive systems The seminar shall include 3-days of on-site instruction, student textbooks, 2008 National Electrical Code book, pl us Electrical Safty with NFPA 70E Requirements and Procedures Textbook, classroom consumables, and certificates. Instructors Qualifications " Should have five years of experience as a trainer, instructor, or educator. <BR >" Should have a minimum of two years of experience at a supervisory level or higher in construction and electrical maintenance. " Shall have had several years of industrial electrical experience. " Should have previous experience as a State of Michi gan Electrical Inspector. " Shall have had previous experience as a State of Michigan Electrical Contractor. " Should have current or have had a State of Michigan Master Electrician license. " Shall have an in depth knowledge of NFPA 70. < BR>
