Description
The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Spydercrane, 300 S. 59th Ave, Phoenix, AZ. The procurement will be conducted on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) as implemen ted by FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This acquisition is for three (3) each hydraulic mini crawler cranes, and one (1) spare parts push package. Each crane has a lifting capac ity of 6,450 pounds maximum, with a working radius of 1.5 feet minimum to 27.6 feet maximum. The 5-section box beam type telescoping boom has a length of 8.3 feet for the retracted boom and 28.4 feet for the extended boom, with an extending speed of 20.1 feet per 20 seconds. The winch is hydraulic motor driven, with spur gear reduction, an automatic mechanical brake, and a wire rope retaining roller. The crawling gear consists of an endless rubber crawler with a tread length of 3.44 feet and a climbing a bility of 20 degrees. The basis for restricting competition is because Spydercrane is the only known distributor for the mini crawler crane. The NAICS code for this procurement is 333923 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This sol e source requirement will be procured under Other Than Full and Open Competition procedures and awarded on an unrestricted basis. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS and a solicitation will not be issued; however, any firm that believes it can me et the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer not later than 17 March 2008. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed. Responses received wi ll be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the so le source negotiation with Spydercrane. Award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items.
