Description
The U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center, Product Manager Force Sustainment Systems (PM FSS), Natick, MA is conducting a market survey to locate potential vendors who can demonstrate a mature solid waste disposal system. System shall be capable of dispo sing of numerous types of solid waste to include wood, paper, cardboard, food, plastic, sanitary, clinical and oil waste. As a threshold, system must be capable of destroying 4000 pounds of solid waste per day; the approximate solid waste amount generated by a typical Force Provider Module (600 soldiers). As an objective we are seeking the ability to provide a form of energy reclamation from the destruction of solid waste. Solid waste disposal system must fit within no more than two, 20 ISO containers, each weighing less than 10,000 pounds (gross). If energy recovery is possible an additional two, 20 ISO containers can be used (four total ISO containers, each weighling less than 10,000 pounds gross) and also must weigh not more than 10,000 pounds (gro ss). Method of proposed solid waste disposal needs to be explained in detail, all methods are of interest; however, the system must conform to both European and U.S. acceptable standards for gaseous emissions and/or any other applicable environmental regu lations governing liquid and/or solid waste products. PM FSS is not soliciting for concepts, prototypes, or systems in early development. The system must currently be available and be capable of being put into an operational environment immediately with minimal development. Information should include available technology, product literature and illustrations, and relevant company background/experience and must be received within NLT 30 calendar days of this publication date.
