- Western Area Power Administration (Western) has a requirement to have a Westinghouse MOBT-15 Auto Transformer 115kV 40mva (multiple voltages 115/69/34.5/12.5 Delta) remanufactured on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, 41 USC 253(c)(1), ???Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement???. Western believes that ABB Transformer Remanufacturing and Engineering Services (TRES) is the only know source that is capable of remanufacturing this transformer as they own the proprietary design data and drawings. This notice is not a request for competitive quote/proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities by submittal of a capability statement which must include enough technical material/information for evaluation to verify their ability to satisfy the Government???s requirement without substantial duplication of cost or unacceptable delay. All capability statements are due to the Frances Gutierrez, Contracting Officer no later than March 7th, 2008 by close of business (3:30PMMT). Any information received will be considered for the purpose of conducting competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This acquisition will be accomplished under the part FAR 12 ??? Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR 13 ??? Simplified Acquisition. The applicable NAICS Code is 335311; Size Standard is 750 employees.
