Description

THIS IS A 100% EMERGING SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE ACQUISITION. The contractor shall provide all plant, labor, tools, parts equipment, transportation and incidentals to repair an existing shop building on the North Platte NWR. The project is located at the North Platte NWR, located in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Work included (numbers are estimates only) the Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to: 1. Remove the existing roof shingles, inspect and repair the roof sheathing, install new flexible roofing underlayment and install new, interlocking, metal roof shingles. 2. Install a new front gutter, downspout and splashblock. 3. Remove the existing siding, and install new, prefinished metal siding and insulation. Install bent metal covering over the existing wood trim color to match new siding. Install new metal soffits, fascia and trim to match new siding. 4. Adjust overhead door torsion spring to ensure smooth operation. Lubricate all moving parts of door and opening system. 5. Replace existing exterior overhead door perimeter weatherstripping. 6. Install attic ventilation louvers with bird screen at each gable end. Size as indicated. 7. Replace the existing man-door with a new, pre-hung, insulated metal door and frame. The door and frame shall be fully insulated including door bottom, perimeter weatherstripping and thermal break frame and threshold. Reinstall the existing lockset. Remaining hardware items shall be new, commercial quality, including a new closer. 8. Adjust antenna guy wire tension. Contractor is responsible for 1. determining exact measurements of the roof structure. 2. the purchase and delivery of all required materials. 3. a thorough cleanup of the job site to include the use of a magnetic device to ensure that all nails and screws are picked up. 4. the the removal and legal disposal of all removed roofing materials. All work will be performed in compliance with the attached Statement of Work. The period of performance is 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. It is anticipated that the Notice to Proceed will be issued on or about April 1, 2008. LOCATION AND INSPECTION OF SITE Prospective bidders may inspect the sites by contacting the Refuge Manager at North Platte NWR, located in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. The estimated magnitude of construction is under $25,000.00. The total performance is 180 days from the Notice to Proceed. This acquisition is open only to emerging small business concerns. The NAICS code 238160, Roofing Contractors, and small business size standard is $13 Million. The solicitation package is anticipated to be available electronically on/or about February 29, 2008 with an anticipated closing date of March 17, 2008.
