Description
On or about 13 March 2008, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Rehab Fire Protection System in Powerhouse, Fort Randall Project, Pickstown, South Dakota. The solicitation will close on or about 14 April 2008. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED AND OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. Contractors interested in inspecting the site of the proposed work should contact Ron Mabie, Fort Randall Project Office, P.O. Box 199, Pickstown, SD (605) 4 87-7845 X 3231. DO NOT submit requests for plans and specifications to the site visit personnel listed above. See Obtaining Solicitation Documents below. Project Description: Work consists of providing a new sprinkler system for the office and records storage area of the Power Plant. As part of this system, the existing fire pumps are being replaced with a new fire pumps which will provide the required flow for the new sprinkler system and existing standpipe system; the existing fire pump surge tank will be replaced with a new, nominal 1200 gallon, surge tank; revision to the fire alarm system will be required, electrical support for the new fire pumps will be required. The work will include a base bid and options. The estimated con struction cost of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisi ons will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of th e surety. Obtaining Solicitation Documents: This office will no longer send copies via paper or CDs of amendments and solicitations to interested parties. Solicitation documents will be posted on Federal Technical Data Solutions or FedTeDS. FedTeDS is a web-based dissemination tool designed to safeguard acquisition-related information. When solicitation documents have been issued and posted to FedTeDs, synopsis or pre-solicitation notice will be amended and a link provided to access FedTeDS in note 2 below. Once you open the solicitation announcement on Fed Biz Opps, there will be a link provided to the solicitation on FedTeDS. Cl ick on the link. 3. Once you have the solicitation open, you can begin downloading the various files t o your location.
