Description
The Department of State is seeking industry comments on the release of a Request for Information (RFI) that will seek feedback from industry regarding release of DoS draft solicitation for potential software development services for the Department of State (hereafter referred to as the State Department or DoS). A Pre-Solicitation Industry Day will be conducted on March 26, 2008 during the RFI response period. Services will be procured using GSA Schedule 70 contractors? holders under NAICS Code 541512 - Computer Systems Design Services. Background: DoS currently employs the use of four primary software systems to support non-immigrant and immigrant visa processing domestically as well as at overseas Posts. Due to a number of pressing software, business, and management challenges related to these existing visa systems, the Department is pursuing the consolidation of the capabilities found in the existing set of systems to develop a unified visa processing software solution (henceforth referred to as the Consolidated Visa System (CVS) or System). The Department?s goal with this System is to address the functional, operational, and financial implications of conducting training and maintenance for four separate primary visa systems as well as to strategically transform and modernize State?s visa processing environment by providing consolidated, person-centric visa data. DO NOT SUBMIT PROPRIETARY INFORMATION. Responses are due to this RFI by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2008. See sections 5.0 and 6.0 for further information. All questions for Industry Day may be submitted by sending an e-mail to the AQM POC no later than Wednesday, March 12, 2008. No questions received after that date will be answered unless the Government determines the answer to the question imparts information material to Industry?s ability to respond to the RFI. Government responses to questions will be made available. The CVS draft solicitation CVSRFI1044A has been posted via http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. In order to access technical drawings of the systems contractors must be registered at http://www.FedTeDS.gov. Contact Information: If you have any questions regarding this RFI notice or draft solicitation, please contact: STEWARTJ@state.gov via email only. No telephone questions will be accepted. All questions shall be in writing addressed to the above email address. Jo-Ann Stewart, Contract Specialist, and Phone: 703-875-6646, Fax: 703-875-6085.
