- Description
- The Headquarters Air Force Security Forces Center Innovation Division's (SFI)) mission is to identify and deliver emergent and future force protection and force application solutions for the Air Force by rapidly measuring their potential through research, operational demonstrations, and modeling and simulation. The primary focus is on identifying and investigating ideas and concepts capable of being demonstrated in less than18 months. The BAA process constitutes a solicitation of concepts from those offerors capable of satisfying the Government's needs. The Government encourages nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, government laboratories, Historically Black Colleges/Universities and Minority Institutions (HBCU/MIs), foreign contractors (pursuant to Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Subpart 225.8 and not excluded under DFARS Subparts 225.6 and 225.7, and large businesses to submit research concepts for consideration. The BAA selection process will be conducted in two phases. An electronic copy of the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) FY08BAASFI-1 package that describes the full process for submission and evaluation can be accessed and downloaded at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Paper copies will not be available. All prospective offerors interested in submitting a response to the BAA must have a Commercial and Government Entity Code (Cage Code). Prospective offerors are also required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database and complete their On-line Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) at www.bpn.gov.
