Description
This synopsis neither constitutes a Request for Proposals/Request for Quotations, nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. This sources sought synopsis should not be construed as a commitment by the Government of any future action. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to communicate with industry our interest in a Registrar?s system, receive feedback from the industry that identifies multiple sources, find interested vendors to foster competition, and use the information gained from this notice to prepare any future solicitation in a way which benefits both the Government and the contractor. Project Information: The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences includes the F. Edward H?bert School of Medicine has a year-round, four-year curriculum similar to that found at other U.S. medical schools. Doctoral and masters degrees in the biomedical sciences and public health are awarded by interdisciplinary and department-based graduate programs within the School of Medicine. USU also includes the Graduate School of Nursing which offers a Master of Science in Nursing degree in Nurse Anesthesia, Family Nurse Practitioner, Preoperative Nursing, and a Ph.D. degree in Nursing Science. We are interested in acquiring commercial off the shelf (COTS) software modified as a comprehensive student information system that stores detailed information on students, faculty, and staff; it would provide class schedules, track, store, and record grades and attendance, produce report cards, and calculate GPAs. The software will allow the USUHS exchange data with Blackboard and Corporate Database, a University Intranet, enables electronic grades, and supports an electronic workflow system. The system will also need to support multiple USUHS programs such as HSPD-21, the Virtual Medical University and the growing interest in USUHS distance learning initiatives. The objective is to have software that will allow the University to simplify administrative functions with fast and easy record keeping, student scheduling, attendance tracking, and reporting. Attached is the ?Functional Requirements? document. If you can meet all of the requirements for this project, please respond to this sources sought synopsis by fax, e-mail or mail to the attention of Ms. Christina Johnson, Contract Specialist, Fax: 301-295-1716 or e-mail at cjohnson@usuhs.mil.
