- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA-209), intends to award a sole-source firm-fixed price (FFP) and time and materials (T&M) contract for a base year plus one option year to Harris Corporation, Melbourne, Florida in support of the integration of the Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS) software into the Tactical Aircraft Moving Map Capbility (TAMMAC) Digital Map Computer (DMC)/Digital Video Map Computer (DVMC) for the UH-1Z/AH-1Y helicopter. Currently, Harris integrates the TAWS software for all existing TAMMAC platform customers as part of the TAMMAC map software build. As the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the TAMMAC DMC and DVMC, Harris is the only source with the knowledge, expertise, and technical data required to succesfully intergrate the government owned TAWS software to meet UH-1Z/AH-1Y aircraft and the TAMMAC program?s performance and schedule requirements. The DMC/DVMC designed and manufactured by Harris Corporation is the only DMC and DVMC that has been tested through TECHEVAL/OPEVAL for UH-1Z/AH-1Y aircraft use. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements."
