Description
The US Army Joint Munitions & Lethality Life Cycle Management Command (JM&L LCMC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is seeking potential sources for the manufacturing of propellant bags for the XM350 Propelling Charge. This is a new developmental propelling charge for the 105mm Howitzer. There are two styles of bags included in this announcement: 3-D Cylindrical bags and 1-D Rectangular bags. The potential quantities of propellant bags needed for this effort are as follows: 4,000 3-D Cylindrical bags and 5,000 1-D Rectangular bags with an option for approximately 20,000 bags. The bags shall be made in accordance with the attached draft drawings: 9282046-resize-EU copy-W.jpg; 9282045-resize- end assembly-W.jpg; 9282043-resize-body and end assembly-W.jpg; 9281867-Body- resize-W.jpg; 9282044-resize-body side seam-W.jpg; 9288697-bag-first R&D sizes- W.jpg. The required cloth to be used in the manufacture of these propellant bags is Class 2 Acrylic in accordance with MIL-C-12800. These drawings are marked with the U.S. Arms Export Control Act; therefore, interested sources must request a copy of AMSTA-AR Form 1350. Upon receipt of this form respondents must provide the necessary information and return it to the POC with an approved DD Form 2345 in order to receive a copy of the aforementioned draft drawings. Interested sources must demonstrate an ability to make the end, body, and final assembly of the 3-D cylindrical bags and the 1-D bags, as well as the ability to meet an accelerated delivery schedule. All sources must submit their responses no later than 25 March 2008 to christina.nigro@us.army.mil. Large files need to be compressed using WinZip (http://www.winzip.com).
