- Replace the paragraph from the original announcement with the information contained below: Request Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Firm to provide all required labor, material and equipment to develop construction documents to include contract drawings, specifications and site investigations for the development of contract documents, construction period services and site visits and complete an analysis to determine size of steam boilers required to meet steam demand of the hospital. Project will consist of design for replacement of the three (3) 10,000 lb/hr boilers with high efficiency (minimum of 85% efficiency) boilers. Replace all water tanks with up to date technology. Replace Water Pumps with efficient Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) units and replace fuel pumps. Replace Boiler Combustion Controls and all Automatic Monitoring System with new Automated Plant Control System. Boiler Plant will be equipped with appropriate Pollution Control Devices. Upgrade existing electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The Engineering Firm will provide architectural/structural services as required. Firm shall develop all demolition, architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical and fire protection drawings and specifications for these disciplines and detailed construction cost estimate as required; additionally, the M/E Firm will provide a construction phasing plan. Firms shall comply with NFPA, NEC and Life Safety Codes, VA Design Criteria, construction standards and other required documents for the development of these documents. All designs shall be accomplished in accordance with VA guidelines and specifications, which are available on the Internet at http://www.va.gov/facmgt/standard. Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Firm shall field verify every aspect that relates to the project, coordinate visits with the Project Manager. Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Firm must be proficient in the use of Auto Cad 2000 and have access to Microsoft Word 5.0 or higher. Estimated time of completion is 280 calendar days. Estimated cost of construction is $1,286,180. Area of consideration is restricted to within three hundred and fifty (350) miles of the Jack C Montgomery VA Medical Center, 1011 Honor Heights Drive, Muskogee, OK 74401.
