Description
The purpose of this notification is to correct the POCs email address from (laponcer.randall-allen@usace.army.mil) to read (laponcer.d.randall-allen@usace.army.mil) and to extend the response date to 19 Feb 2008, Close of business, Eastern Standard Time (1700). Design and Construction Services for New Pier Facilities Iraq Port of Umm Qsar THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ANNOUNCEMENT TO BE USED FOR MARKET ANALYSIS ONLY. NO AWARDS WILL BE MADE FROM THE RESPONSES TO THIS SYNOPSIS . NO SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. HOWEVER RESPONSES WILL BE USED TO DETERMINE THE APPROPRIATE ACQUISITION STRATEGY FOR A FUTURE ACQUISITION. PROJECT SCOPE: The US Army Corps of Engineers, Gulf Region South District has a re quirement to locate contractors that are interested in a contract to design and /or construct or design-build two piers at the Port of Umm Qsar; and a seawall approximate length 450m. The location is in Iraq at the north end of the Persian Gulf, just nort h of the Iraq-Kuwait border. CONTRACT PROCEDURES: Contractors which desire to express their interest in the requirement described above for design, construction, and design-build services are requested to provide the following documentary evidence: 1. If interested in providing design services: Provide indication of ability to meet a 90-day schedule to provide a 100% design of the proposed project; if unable to meet a 90-day performance period provide a proposed time period to do so. <B R>2. If interested in providing construction services: Provide indication of ability to meet a 270-day construction period to complete Phase 1 pier and a 365-day construction period to complete Phase 2 pier and seawall; if unable to meet this timeline pro vide a proposed time period to do so. 3. If interested in providing design-build services: Provide indication of ability to meet design-build schedule to complete Phase 1 pier prior to Phase 2 pier and seawall; and provide beneficial occupancy of P hase 1 pier before April 2009. If unable to meet this timeline provide a proposed time period to do so. 4. Provide documentation to demonstrate experience and capability to successfully design the work identified in this Sources Sought request. 5. Provide documentation to demonstrate experience and capability to successfully construct the work identified in this Sources Sought request. 6. Provide documentation to demonstrate past methods and successes in dealing with security issue s in this geographic area. 7. Provide evidence of experience in utilizing local and regional market place capabilities through sourcing and staffing strategy.
