- Description
- The JFDIO is a system that allows for input and output of flight data. As flight plans are received by Air Traffic Controllers from the Japanese Airspace System, the plans will be converted by the Automated Protocol Exchanger (APEX) into the format used by the United States. The flight plans will then be routed to the JFDIO whose function is to print these plans on a specialized flight strip printer. In addition to this output of flight plans via the printer, controllers will also be able to create local flight plans, make changes to existing flight plans, and create what are referred to as stereo flight plans, or "canned" flight plans. The JFDIO System is comprised of the software necessary to process flight data, a personal computer with monitor, peripheral input devices, and printer. There is incidental Technical Support and Travel to be included in this procurement. This is a sole source procurement by the Air Force ESC/853d ELSG with JVN Company of Absecon NJ , only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, FAR 6.302-1 (a) (2) (iii) (A), wherein substantial as authorized by duplication of cost to the Government is not expected to be recovered through competition. The JFDIO system described here is to be added to the existing Japanese National Airspace System, Automated Protocol Exchanger (JNAS/APEX) contract, FA8730-07-C-0001.
