- LAUNDRY SERVICE, DELIVERY, AND PICK-UP The laundry and its personnel will be responsible for delivery of clean linen to the Amarillo VA Healthcare System and pick-up of soiled linen. The laundry contractor must meet all applicable standards of hospital laundry service as prescribed by VHA Manual-1, Part VII, Chapters 6, 7, and 9; VHA Handbook 1850.3, Textile Care Management, and Handbook 1850.4, Employee Uniforms. The laundry must assure sufficient number of trained personnel, equipment, transportation, and supplies to provide uninterrupted laundering service to the Amarillo VA Healthcare System. In addition, the laundry facility is subject to inspection by officials such as the Linen Officer, Infection Control Coordinator, Safety Officer, or facility executives as well as governing bodies that assure provision of high quality patient care for veterans, such as The Joint Commission and the VA Office of Inspector General.
