Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE AVAILABLE. The Naval Air Warfare Center Lakehurst is requesting information pertaining to the replacement of the existing A/S32A-37 Landbased Tow Tractor (TA-35). For the purposes of this RFI, the new Large Landbased Tow Tractor shall be called the LLTT. The Government is requesting information on the availability of diesel, hybrid, or all electric powered vehicles that would be capable of performing the duties of the current tow tractor. The LLTT shall be capable of pushing or pulling with 35,000 lbs draw bar pull from both front and rear ends at walking speed. Forward and reverse speeds without a load shall not exceed 15/3 mph respectively. The LLTT size shall be limited for internal carry on C-5 and C-17 aircraft. It shall be capable of a 300 inch turning radius and have ground clearance of at least 13 inches. The LLTT shall be capable of operating in temperatures ranging from -40 F to 140 F, high winds, heavy rain, snow and sand storms, accommodate various terrains (concrete, packed dirt, gravel), climb 20 degree slope (unloaded), and be truck/rail/ship transportable. As required for any typical Navy Support Equipment (SE), the LLTT shall be highly reliable, maintainable, and supportable. Please provide commercial pamphlets, operating and maintenance manuals, or any other documentation that would describe a unit to meet the above requirements. It is anticipated that if a solicitation is issued it will be for a quantity of approximately 150 LLTTs. It is requested that information be submitted NO LATER THAN 17 DECEMBER 2007 to Ms. Lori Bishop, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Code 25211B562-3, Highway 547, Lakehurst, NJ 08733-5082, or by electronic mail at: lori.bishop@navy.mil. Respondents are notified that a formal solicitation MAY NOT necessarily result from the RFI. Any comments provided may or may not be included in a formal solicitation. The Government WILL NOT PAY for any information received in response to this RFI nor will the Government compensate any respondent with costs incurred in developing the information provided to the Government. The Government will not release any information marked with a Proprietary legend, received in response to this RFI, to any firms, agencies, or individuals outside the Government without written permission in accordance with the legend.
