- On or about November 29, 2007, Battelle Memorial Institute (Battelle), in connection with Battelle?s Operation and Maintenance of the U.S. Department of Energy?s Pacific Northwest National Laboratory at Richland, Washington under Contract No. DE-AC05-76RL01830 will advertise Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 46718, for a Firm Fixed Price Construction Contract, to facilitate construction of a new Nanomaterials Synthesis Laboratory. The Nanomaterials Synthesis Lab (NSL)is a 9,500SF new laboratory facility located on PNNL's Richland campus. This project shall include all labor, materials, equipment, subcontracts, and supervision required to construct the facility. The facility shall be constructed using type II, noncombustible construction utilizing a concrete slab on grade, structural steel superstructure, metal stud interior and exterior walls, 4" thick CMU exterior veneer, gypsum board system interiors wall finishes, suspended ceiling system, unfiltered laboratory exhaust system, laboratory gas piping, and shall include, but not be limited to the following disciplines: Cast-In-Place Concrete, Structural Steel, Steel Joists, Steel Decking, Cold Formed Metal Framing, Metal Fabrications, Rough Carpentry, Building Insulation, Thermoplastic Membrane Roofing, Metal Doors and Frames, Aluminum Entrance Doors, Exterior Windows and Frames, Glazing, Gypsum Wallboard, Acoustical Ceiling, Resilient Flooring, Carpet, Painting, Metal Louvers, Toilet Compartments, Laboratory Fume Hoods, Laboratory Casework and Equipment, Fire Suppression Piping, Facility Water Distribution, Sanitary Water Piping, Facility Sanitary Sewers, Sanitary Waste and Vent Piping, Facility Storm Drainage, Plumbing Fixtures, Emergency Plumbing Fixtures, Gas Piping for Laboratory Facilities, Chemical Waste Systems for Laboratory Facilities, Instrumentation and Control for HVAC, Laboratory Air Systems Instrumentation and Control, Facility Natural Gas Piping, Hydronic Piping, Hydronic Pumps, Metal Ducts, Centrifugal HVAC Fans, Water Tube Boilers, Modular Indoor Central-Station Air Handling Unit, Packaged, Outdoor, Central Air Handling Unit, Split-System Air Conditioner, Air Coils, Unit Heaters, Low Voltage Power Conductors and Cables, Control Voltage Power Conductors, Grounding and Bonding for Electrical Systems, Cable Trays for Electrical Systems, Light Control Devices, Underground Ducts and Raceways for Electrical Systems, Low-Voltage Transformers, Panelboard, Electricity Metering, Interior Lighting, Communications Equipment Room Fittings, Communications Backbone Cabling, Communications Horizontal Cabling, Conductors and Cables for Electronic Safety and Security, Digital Addressable Fire-Alarm System, Site Clearing, Earth Moving Asphalt Paving, Planting Irrigation, Turf and Grasses. MANDATORY PRE-BID SITE VISIT: All Contractors wishing to bid as a general contractor must send a company representative to the mandatory site tour. Attendees may represent only one general contractor declared at the time of the site visit. All information regarding the site tour (including the date and time) and badging will be in the solicitation.
