Description
Description: This is not a solicitation announcement and this notice does not constitute any commitment by the Government. The purpose of this market survey is being conducted to gain knowledge of potentially qualified small business sources and to determine if they can effectively compete for award of a Firm Fixed Price Contract for the Manufacture and Testing of Static Excitation Systems. The Static Excitation Systems shall be of the type used in the Hydropower Industry for Hydropower Generators rated 40 MW and larger. Responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis will be used by the government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Only Small Business firms should respond to this notice. The (NAICS) Code of 335312 applies the, size standard fo r which is a concern, including its affiliates whose average annual number of employees does not exceed 1000. Interested firms shall reply to the following questions: (1) Provide evidence of successful manufacture and testing of Static Excitation Systems , in the size range indicated above, in the last 3 years. Provide a complete description of all equipment along with the ratings and tests conducted. (2) Provide points of contact, including name and phone number, for the purchaser of the manufacturers equipment. Include the date of purchase. (3) The small business shall provide all warranty information associated with the manufactured equipment. (4) Provide a complete description of the control system(s) utilized in the equipment that is manufactured , including PSS controls. (5) Provide commissioning procedures and qualifications of commissioning engineers or technicians. Interested firms should submit document describing relevant experience in the following format: name(s) of client(s); location o f job site; client point of contact and telephone number; type of project, estimated value of project, and the date projects were performed. This documentation should be limited to descriptions of past and current contracts of the kind of work identified above. It is not necessary to submit additional company information, resumes, sales material or brochures. Responses should be submitted via email to Mrs. Shirley Y. Hooker. Submittals are due no later than 19 Febru ary 2008. Telephonic responses will not be honored. This is not a Request for Proposal, only a Request for Information. No award will result from this Sources Sought.
