Description
Customs & Border Protection intends to issue a purchase order with a local privately owned indoor firing range to conduct their mandatory trimester firearms qualifications. All requests and responses to this Request For Quote shall be via E-mail. The request shall include the company name, mailing address, phone and fax number, and a point of contact. The range must meet the following minimum standards to qualify: 1. The contractor must make the range area available exclusively to Customs & Border Protection officers every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for 41 days per qualification period for a total of 123 days per year. 2. The range must be open for our use from 10:00AM to 6:00PM on each qualification day. 3. The range area will be closed to the public during the aforementioned period of use. 4. The range must be within 15 miles of the duty station. 5. The range must be an indoor range so that inclement weather is not a concern on qualification days. 6. The range must possess a minimum of 6 firing points. 7. The range must have lighting controls on the range that allow for low light shooting courses. 8. The range must allow shooting from a minimum of 3 yards out to a maximum of 25 yards. 9. The range must have moveable barricades. 10. The range must have a classroom facility that possesses VHS and DVD compatible televisions for a training media. 11. The range must possess a ventilation system that meets all existing OSHA standards. 12. The range must have separate restroom facilities for men and women. 13. The range must be able to accommodate the following ammunition: 9mm and .40 caliber handgun rounds and 12 gauge shotgun rounds. 14. The range rules must allow shooter movement within the shooting booths (i.e.; standing to kneeling). 15. The range rules must allow shooters to draw and fire rapidly from a holster. 16. The range rules must allow the shooters to perform tactical courses of fire that use steel targets and that allow for movement down range towards the backstop. The proposed period of performance will be for a year?s duration, March 1, 2008 through February 28, 2009. The vendor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (active) to be eligible for award. The website is https://www.bpn.gov.
