Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) Solicitation FA4877-08-Q-0186 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). (iii) This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-21. (iv) This procurement is being issued as a 100% SMALL BUSINESS 8(a) set-aside under NAICS code 517919 and small business size standard $23.0 million . (v) The contractor shall provide the following items: Design and install an 802.11 b/g wireless "umbrella" that distributes access wireless internet, currently provided by the local telephone company, to 400 RV sites (current and proposed sites). Install and configure router to add additional DSL for enhanced bandwidth to FamCamp (Fam Camp will order additional DSL). Incorporate necessary wireless client/repeaters to cover fade areas for current and proposed RV sites. Limit access to the wireless internet to the transient customers of the RV complex. Total footprint of park is encompassed within approx. a 2000 ft. radius from the FamCamp admin Bldg. (Internet Gateway). Access to existing light poles for the mounting and powering of wireless equipment is not expected. The contractor shall provide a wireless network that will operate of Davis-Monthan AFB, on a not to interfere with base operation basis. There is no desire from FamCamp management to: a. Control bandwidth. b. Limit content access (via any other means than the management available via the 802.11 b/g communication standard). c. Have a billing system, automated or otherwise as the wireless network shall be provided free to the FamCamp customers. d. Purchase wireless antenna range extender systems for customers with substandard wireless cards in their computers. A site Visit is scheduled for 11 February 2008.
