- Description
- The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) intends to issue a solicitation for Medical and Dental Benefits Review Services, including mental health and substance abuse, for the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program. Medical professionals may be required to provide assistance in conducting reviews of prior approval requests for medical and dental benefits, disputed claims, consultation, and special projects for the Insurance Services Programs. Medical professionals must meet the following requirements: a degree in doctor of medicine (M.D.), doctor of osteopathic medicine (D.O.), doctor of dental surgery (D.D.S.), or doctor of dental medicine (D.M.D.) from an accredited university; Board Certified and collectively represent all of the specialties and sub-specialties recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties; licensed to practice in a state in the USA, DC, PR, Guam or the Virgin Islands; no conflicts or apparent conflicts of interest; adequate malpractice insurance coverage that includes liability for content of medical and dental review determinations and consultation services; and adequate general liability insurance. The period of performance for the contract will include a 12-month base year plus four 1-year option periods. OPM anticipates issuing the subject solicitation on or before June 22, 2007 for a Firm Fixed-Price contract. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the Federal Business Opportunities Website at www.fbo.gov. Interested sources may submit a written request to be placed on the mailing list so they can be notified when the solicitation has been released.
